This tour encompasses an interesting mix of visits, including a visit to the ever-mysterious Rosslyn
Chapel, made famous by Dan Brown’s book The Da Vinci Code. We take a tour of the Glenkinchie distillery, visit the impressive ruins of
Tantallon Castle, and walk around the pleasant County town of Haddington and the seaside town of North Berwick.
The gentle countryside of East Lothian has a certain charm all its own, as you will discover during
the course of this tour. The area enjoys a mild sunny climate which, together with the nearby presence of the the waters of the Firth of Forth,
gives this area a marvellous quality of light.
We drive along rustic country lanes, winding our way through fertile farmlands, and passing various
monuments and ruined castles as we go. In this part of Scotland there are lots of quaint, olde worlde style villages, with their pantiled cottages
around the village green.
Almost everywhere you go in East Lothian, you are rewarded with dramatic views across the open
countryside looking towards the Firth of Forth and beyond to the hills of Fife.
